Please read these terms and conditions of use carefully. They contain important information regarding the User’s civil and fiscal rights and obligations. They include various restrictions and exclusions, as well as obligations, relating to compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

● If a host wishes to cancel a booked trip, they must notify the guest via on-site messaging as soon as possible

● The cancellation is effective immediately, the guest receives a 100% refund

● Hosts is subject to 60 eur fee if they cancel a trip less than 24 hours before the start

of the trip

● Hosts is subject to 30 eur fee if they cancel more than 24 hours before the start of the

trip

● Hosts who repeatedly cancel trips may be subject to additional fees

● Hosts who repeatedly cancel trips may be removed from the marketplace

1.2.3. Flight delay or cancellation

Host and renter must communi​cate about the possible delay. Evidence must be provided to host and Giro support in order for him to

If evidence accepted by Giro and host and host is willing to accept the loss of revenue, full refund will be made by giro.

1.3. Extending your reservation

If renter wants to extend rental duration he can do this by renting the car for additional period.

Changing the dates of arrival is subject to 1.2.1.2 Trip price and fee

Guest and host must be in communication if any small delays happen or late pickups or early returns

1.3.2 ​Late return policy

If the hosts car is unavailable for an extension the renter must return the car in time

of drop off. Otherwise the renter is subject to late return fees.

If hosts wants to claim late return fee and the renter does not agree with the fee, the renter must provide photo evidence timely return of car to host and send the evidence to ​support@girocarshare.com

If the car is returned more that 15 minutes late a full hour can be charged. The same goes for and additional hours, example 1 hour and 16 minutes will result in 2 hours late return.

If the car is returned 2 hours and 15 minutes late an additional day will be charged to the guest. 2 hours late return fee will be also charged to the renter.

1.4 Cleaning policy

Hosts must provide clean cars if not guest shall contact Giro support

If returned car is in significantly dirtier condition hosts can charge additional cleaning cost. If the renter doesn’t accept the additional cost, the host must document the state of the car by taking photos of the interior and sent them to support@girocarshare.com.​ Renter can also grade the hosts car cleanlines by sending through the apps host grading.

If the car returned is significantly dirtier there are the following fees host can charge the renter

● basic cleaning

● intermediate cleaning

● complete cleaning

basic cleaning -25€

exterior is very muddy, evidence of driving on the non paved roads, interior has lots of dirt,sand, foods. Interior can be cleaned by vacuuming

intermediate cleaning - 60€

smoking odor in the car that can be removed by basic cleaning , low amounts of pet hair, easly removed stains on floor mats, dashboars or seats.

complete cleaning -150€

smoking odor in the car that can’t be removed by basic cleaning and need deep cleaning , pet hair that need deep cleaning, major stains on dashboar or seats.

If the car has tears on the seats or is returned in shape the is not repairable by normal cleaning services, host must document the state of the car by photos and send them to ​support@girocarshare.com.​ Custom fines are to be determined in accordance with all parties involved.

1.5 Fuel policy

The car must be filled with correct fuel. We recommend to hosts to full to full policy (rent out cars with full tank or full battery charge for electric vehicles and requesting full tank (full charge) at return ( drop off)

If host decides to rent out cars with less than full tank we recommend renter the photo document the full level at pick up and drop off.

If the car is returned with less fuel hosts must photo document the pre and post state of fuel level and suggest the amount of reimbursement. The same goes for electric vehicles.

1.6 Delivery service

Host can offer free delivery radius. (Delivery radius means aerial distance that can result in significantly longer delivery distance due to non optimal roads)

If host does not offer free delivery or distance exceeds free delivery radius host can apply additional delivery charge. The delivery price must be offered by host in advance. All delivery charges can be applied on the additionial trip cost page at drop off section of the application.

1.7 ​Daily pricing policy

Giro daily rental is 23 hours. The car must be returned one hour before the time of the day that was picked up ( example if the car was picked up on Tuesday 11 am and is rented out for 2 day it must be returned on Thursday 10 am at the lastest)

1.8 Security deposit policy

Security deposits are returned 72 hours after the car was returned in same condition as rented out.

  1. CAR USE

2.1 Prohibited uses

Only renters with valid driving licence, personal ID and valid address uploaded to the Giro application will be able to rent out cars though Giro

Car host is obligated to check the identity of the driver (must match the renter ID documents in provided in GIro application)

Any prohibited use of vehicle booked though Giro will result in fines, membership termination, lowering the rating of the renter.

Prohibited uses and activities are the following

● Driving under influence of alcohol or drugs or medication that effects the operation of the vehicle

● Driving on the unpaved roads unless the car host strictly allows it.

● Using cars on race tracks, racing events and competitions

● Towing or pushing anything

● Loading the car beyond its rated capacity

● Transporting dangerous or illegal substances that are flammable, toxic, volatile, poisonous and/or dangerous

● changing or improving the car in any way, shape of form

● improper fuel usage

● leaving the vehicle unattended when engine is running and keys are inside

the vehicle

2.2 Smoking

smoking of any tobacco and/or marijuana related substances,. e-cigaretes or vaporizers in the car (unless stated otherwise by the host) - if there is any indication of smell or odor in the car, applicable cleaning fees may and will apply

2.3 Pet policy

Pets are not allowed in the car unless allowed by host. Transportation of animals if not previously approved by the host - if there is any indication indication of animal transport not allowed by the host, additional cleaning fees may and will apply

2.4 AdditIonal features

Hosts additIonal features my incloude external navigation, hiking equipment, other sporting equipment, towing equipment, special tools and addons. Charging additional equipment can be applied on the additionial trip cost page at drop off section of the application.

Providing alcohol, drugs, weapons is prohibited as additional features.

2.5 Roadside assistance

Roadside assistance is usually provided by car insurance provider. If car is insured by Giro’s insurance coverage please conact Giro insurance partner for assistance the number is provided in rental confirmation email

2.6 Photo verification

Giro certified photos badge, guaranties the renter that photos on the app are actual cars photos. Also photos made by our photographers will provide more traffic and are the more desirable to customers. You can request certified Girocarshare photographer at photography@girocarshare.com

2.7 Status or damage claims

Please report damages to mail ​damages@girocarshare.com​, the damage must be documented with before and after damage photos. Damages must be reported at the latest 24 hours after damage was indentified and documented.

If host and renter will not be able to determine the amount of damage mutually If damage is in excess

Insurance partner in the specific country will give insturctions to the damaged car owner based on the severity of the damage. If damage is higher than amount of insurance excess fee the damage will be forwared to insurance partner. You can contact the insurance partners on ​damages@girocarshare.com

100 euros resolution fee will be charged to car renter if the if the parties can’t come to mutual agreement and have to resolve the issue though third party. Giro team will replay within 48 hours after the claim has been reported. Please keep in mind that information from both involved parties is need in order to resolve the dispute quickly and successfully. If we don’t get back to you within 48 hours, it is highly likely that we are waiting for the other party or yourself for additional documentation. Disputes are typically resolved within 10-30 days, depending on the responsiveness of both parties involved.

Timing: Once the information for the cost of damage is provided, the guest will usually be charged for the cost of damage within 1 business day.

3. FINES & FEES

3.1 Trip cost, payment, fines & fees

Host must send any traffic fines or parking tickets to the renter. Giro will provide host with evidence of car usage by renter in the time of traffic offence. The renter is also responsible for improper parking for 24 hours after the car was returned without car owners presence.

The renter should notify the car owner if the receive the ticket during the rental period.

3.2 Conditions of payment and refunds

At the user/buyer registration a KYC procedure for the verification will be made. At that time the user's credit card will be validated with a transaction of 1€ which will be refunded.

The renting fee will be charged at agreed rental price to the customer after renting is completed. All additional expenses (extra fuel, cleaning fee, etc) will be charged separately via a new autorisation where the card holder enters the card info.. Cardholder will be presented with a document listing the extra charges and agree with the amount before payment. All transactions are secured by 3D secure

There will be NO reservation of funds – Giro accepts the risk of reservation cancellation.

1 hour after the car rental is reserved or at the latest when the rental is confirmed by the car owner the payment is being processed. Cancelation policy can be found ​here

Refunds can take up to 30 days depending on the payment method. Credit cards and debit cards returns usually take business 5-7 days.

3.3 What payment methods do we accept

3.4 Paying for additional costs

At car drop off Girocarshare application offers easy payments for additional cost such as late returns, extra mileage, refueling, cleaning fees, car delivery and light damages

Additional cost can be determined by the owner at car drop off. If the renter agrees with the additional cost, set by car owner, payment can be processed on the car drop off screen of the app. Owner has 72 hours after the finnish of the rental to determine additional costs.

If after 72 hours no response has been made by car renter, all the cost will be automaticaly deducted from renter

If the renter does not respond or dispute the additional cost requested by the owner within 72 hours of the received request, the renter will be charged with the full amount of the additional requested cost.

3.5 Age limtations

Minimum renters age depends on the car owners setting. Each owner has a setting for minimum age limit and according to that setting drivers are allowed to rent the cars.

4 GIRO REFERRAL PROGRAM TERMS & CONDITIONS

Giro allows registered Giro users (an “Giro User”) to earn credits toward future usage by referring friends to Giro.

To participate, Giro Users must agree to these terms, which become part of the ​Giro Terms of Service.​Capitalized terms that are not defined here will have the same meaning given to them in the ​Giro Terms of Service.​

4.1 How to Earn Referral rental Credits

Giro Users can earn rental Credits towards future Giro rental if:

- a referred friend clicks on their referral link to create a valid Giro account that complies with our ​Terms of Service;​(​basic​referral rental Credit )

- a referred friend clicks on their referral link to create a valid Giro account that complies with our ​Terms of Service​and the referred friend completes a Qualifying rental as a guest. The Giro User may not be the host on the Qualifying Reservation booked by the referred friend. (f​ull​referral rental Credit)

The referring Giro User will be credited with the Travel Credit amount described in the referral invitation or accompanying promotional materials after the completion of the referred friend’s Qualifying Reservation. The maximum rental credit per User will be 5,000 eur (or its local equivalent* if we support it), unless indicated otherwise in the referral invitation or accompanying promotional materials.

4.2 Qualifying Reservation

A ​Qualifying Reservation ​must have a total value (excluding guest fees or taxes) indicated in the referral invitation, accompanying promotional materials, Giro website, or Giro mobile application. Note that this total value may change based on currency fluctuations. The Qualifying Reservation must be booked and paid for via the Giro platform, and the referred friend must complete the stay before the Giro User can receive Travel Credits.

4.3 Redeeming Travel Credits

Travel Credits may only be redeemed via the Giro Site, Application and Services. rental Credits will automatically appear as rental Credit on the checkout page, and must be used on a reservation within one year from the date they are issued. After one year, the rental Credits will expire. rental Credits are coupons issued for promotional purposes; they have no cash value and may not be transferred or exchanged for cash.

Rental Credits may not be earned by creating multiple Giro Accounts. Rental Credits accrued in separate Giro accounts may not be combined into one Giro account.

If for any reason you believe that there is a discrepancy regarding your balance of rental Credits, please contact us. Giro may require you to submit additional information in order to Giro make a determination regarding your balance. All decisions regarding your balance will be final and at Giro’s sole discretion.

You are responsible for any Tax consequences, if any, that may result from your redemption or use of rental Credits. Where applicable, Giro may be required to account for VAT on any services for which the rental Credits are redeemed.

4.4 Sharing Referral Links

Referrals should only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes. Referral links should not be published or distributed on commercial websites. Giro Users are prohibited from “spamming” anyone with referral invitations. This includes mass emailing, texting or messaging people you do not know or using automated systems or bots through any channel to distribute your referral link. Giro Users are prohibited from paying to advertise their referral links.

4.5 Referred Friends

Referred friends that have signed up using a valid referral link will also receive a rental Credit indicated in the referral invitation or accompanying promotional materials that can be used on their next Qualifying Reservation on Giro.

4.6 Multiple Referrals

A referred friend may only use one referral link. If a referred friend receives referral links from multiple Giro Users, only the corresponding Giro User of the referral link used by the referred friend will receive rental Credit.

5. HOW TO USE GIRO CAR SHARE

Giro car share is not a mobility service. We don’t own a fleet, we just want to make a business of car rental easy for an ordinary car owner. We provide car owner a marketplace for his car, easy to setup pricing options, extensive overview of potential renter, provide daily insurance, legal support and many other tools to make car rental as carefree as car rental can be.

5.1 How to be a successful car owner

It is important to be responsive with answers to potential customers. Usual response time will be monitored and will be a representative

Most responsive and accepting car owners will be always on top of offerings in certain areas. Reply to request fast, help renters with additional information and you will be scored with top marks.

Keep you car clean and make photos by Giro professional photographer. Its important that photos represent the car as it is. Take maximum 5 photos of interior and inside, make sure the car is situated in picturesque surroundings for best results.

5.2 How to rent cars in Giro car share

When you register for Giro car share it is important to take photos of your driving licence and personal ID. Car owners will trust you their cars so they need as much information as possible. You can not pay to owner directly only transactions done through Giro payment system are available. You need to enter you credit card in order to reserve a vehicle. After the car rental is confirmed the payment will be processed immediately. Once you have entered all the data needed you will be able to rent cars in under 1 minute. Forever!

To get the best response and most approval rate from car owners you need a high personal score. Your score is graded under 3 criteria, responsiveness, friendlyness and returned car condition. When collecting the car be available to car owner, give him you personal phone number and let him know in advance if you are running late. Be polite and reasonable if you find little problems with the car. Car owners are not professional employed car rental people.

Be careful with the owners car, usually it is equipped with speed and acceleration monitoring so careless driving will be documented and will lower your score. Park the car in safe areas when parking in the street don’t park too close to curbs. Rims can be really expensive.
